Since 1992, we have been running between 5 and 21 classes per week in a

rented art studio in The Park at Findhorn operating entirely independently

of the Findhorn Foundation.

Fearful beginners of all ages, young people who sought a more innovative environment, old age

pensioners who loved art but hadnąt touched a brush for 30 years and many others - have been

launchedinto a life of creativity and learning.

Now we wish to expand and create a new purpose built art centre which will accommodate

the existing students and allow us to expand to meet increasing demand in the area with an

emphasis on art for children and young adults along with other new and

innovative art classes, summer schools and exhibitions.

We intend to build an ecological building of approx. 400 sq. meter with:

3 studios (2D - dry media, 3D - wet media etc.) that could each accommodate up to 18 people

Exhibition spaces (2 & 3D displays)

6 - 8 individual artistsą studios (for residency or hire)

Crafts display area

Visual arts library

We expect to begin building the new centre in 2003 and be ready to open to the public in 2004. We

invite your input and would warmly welcome any information you can give us about your needs and

 desires regarding thepotential use of:

Art studios in which you could give your classes

Individual artistsą studios

An exhibition area to display individual or group work

A crafts display area to promote individual or group work

A visual arts library

As well as helping to design the new centre, notification of your needs will help us in our Lottery

application which we need to submit by 3 April.  We look forward to working with you to create a really

special place for the visual arts for us all.

Thank you and best regards,

Randy Klinger- Coordinator - Findhorn Centre for the Arts
